It is always a pleasure to support the communities where we undertake our construction projects and last week, we were delighted to officially re-site an important monument in Edenbridge, Kent.

Community Engagement – Edenbridge Care Home

Date: July 2019

Our teams are currently on site in the charming town of Edenbridge, delivering a new 85 bedroom, luxury care home for our client Leath Park Developments and end-users Avery Healthcare. The new home, due to open in Spring 2020 will provide residents with an array of facilities including spa bathrooms, therapy rooms, lounge and dining areas, a hairdressers, cinema and library.

The site was formally home to a stone sundial, originally gifted to the town back in 1991 by its twin town of Mont-Saint-Aignan in North West France. To preserve the significance of the towns’ long-established relationship and the importance of their cultural connection, our teams restored the monument to its former glory and last Monday (24th June) officially re-located it to its new home on the Mont-Saint-Aignan Way junction (land kindly donated by the Great Stone Bridge Trust).

Joining Alan Layland, the Chairman of Edenbridge Town Council and Peter Stevens, Chair of the Twinning Association at the re-siting event were other Council and Association members as well as representatives of the Great Stone Bridge Trust and Jenner (Contractors) Limited.

Peter Stevens (Chair of the Twinning Association) commented on “the strength of the twinning relationship between Edenbridge and Mont-Saint-Aignan and the huge part this plays in bringing communities together from different cultural backgrounds as well as the many opportunities for exchange and shared knowledge”.

We hope the excellent relations between the two towns continues to flourish as we look forward to completing the delivery of this impressive new care home in Edenbridge, enhancing the provision of elderly care in the area.
