Now complete and with the first residents moving in, St Andrew’s Court in Swanley provides 28 new flats for older people.
Delivered for Moat Homes, the scheme is designed to deliver an ‘independent living’ feel for residents, while also providing support if required and being dementia friendly.
Sir Michael Fallon officially opened the new scheme on Friday 19th May, expressing how impressed he was at the collaboration shown between all parties to enable the delivery of such an important scheme for the local community.
The flats have been developed over 3 storeys and built using traditional construction methods. Communal facilities have also been developed, including shared gardens / courtyards and a lounge area. Undercroft parking is also provided.
These modern, new homes have replaced the out of date ones that were located on the site. These were constructed back in 1975 and had no lifts, with many of the doorways too narrow for wheelchair access.
