New Sixth Form Centre, Fulston Manor School, Sittingbourne

Location: Sittingbourne

Client: Fulston Manor School

Value: £3.2m

A brand new Sixth Form Centre has been delivered on site at Fulston Manor School. The Centre is located on the edge of the school’s grounds, near the Brenchley Road Entrance. The land was made available via the demolition of a large temporary building and will vastly improve the facilities available for Sixth Form students.

The new Centre acts as a ‘base’ for 6th form students during non teaching time and provides them with a common room and study zones on the upper floor. The Centre also provides teaching areas, a library, cafe kitchen, offices and meeting space.

The scheme was delivered in a live environment, with the school functioning as normal. Pedestrian pathways to the north and passing to the east and west had to be kept open, albeit narrowed, for staff and students as these are principal access routes. These routes were maintained as ‘safe routes’ throughout.
