The scheme involved a five-phase extension and refurbishment of a GP surgery which has 17,500 patients on its books, a live pharmacy is also contained in the existing building and both the surgery and the pharmacy were operational throughout. This project was undertaken for the NHS and had time and budgetary restrictions.
The Surgery has received £850,000 funding from the NHS England Primary Care Transformation Fund to get the project moving.
The extension consists of 7 clinical rooms, a minor operations theatre, recovery rooms and an improved reception area. The project is vital for the community as it will provide more capacity and enable doctors and their teams to provide better care to patients.
The project was delivered via traditional brick and block methods with steelwork frames and concrete beams.
