A new teaching block was provided for Valley Invicta Academies Trust at Invicta Grammar School for Girls that incorporated ten classroom areas and a large dance studio space across two floors. The scheme was constructed using piled foundations and ground beams, a beam and block ground floor, structural steel and masonry superstructure elements.
This project ran concurrently with a similar scheme at Valley Park School, allowing us to benefit from economies of scale and continuity of subcontractors.
The scheme was completed prior to February half term. This allowed the School to decant from and then demolish their existing teaching block while the School was unoccupied, causing minimal disruption.
During this project, we also priced an extensive refurbishment project within Invicta Grammar School, working alongside the design team to provide specification advice.
The extra £150,000 remodelling works were undertaken within the 2013 summer holiday and provided extra teaching spaces to meet the current educational demands of the School.
