Jim began his career in the construction sector almost 40 years ago as an apprentice bricklayer, learning his trade and continuing in this field for 5 years, before re-training as a Contract Surveyor, a role that provided him with extensive industry knowledge across a variety of construction methods and building types.
A career change saw Jim return to site, this time as a Site Manager, where from the mid 1990’s to 2013, he oversaw a multitude of new build and refurbishment projects, delivering residential, care home and commercial sector premises. Schemes varied in size from small, 15-unit dwellings, up to large-scale, 97-unit developments.
Jim joined Jenner in 2013, starting his career with us as a Site Manager, progressing steadily to his now much-valued position of Contract Manager from early 2021. He already holds an exemplary record with us for his delivery of projects to a high-quality outcome, demonstrating proficient project management skills, health and safety excellence and sensitive engagement with the local community. He is a much valued and well-respected member of our team, bringing with him substantial technical knowledge and management experience of different construction methods and project sectors. Jim is also fundamental in supporting our clients’ social value objectives through the delivery of their schemes as well as leading our teambuilding ‘Walks for Wellness’ as part of our drive to support the wellbeing of all our people.
