More affordable new homes in Dover to be delivered by Jenner
Date: November 2020
The new homes, which will be built across two sites in Dover and Deal, will commence on site in the new year and are designed to offer interim accommodation before a more permanent solution is found, for local people who find themselves temporarily homeless and ultimately reducing the reliance on B&B accommodation, which is a significant cost to the Council.
The £3million investment will deliver 8 one-bedroom flats at Stockdale Gardens in Deal and 16 studio flats at Kimberley Close in Dover, both on brownfield sites which are owned by Dover District Council. The residential developments include a range of ancillary communal facilities, including laundry rooms, cycle racks, car parking, and refuse and recycling storage and will regenerate formerly redundant sites for the greater good of the local community.
The appointment for Jenner signifies the excellent working relationships established with Dover District Council as work continues on the construction of 65 affordable homes, a mix of apartment and townhouse living on the William Muge and Snelgrove site in Harold Street, which is progressing well ahead of completion next Spring.
