Pride in supporting Canterbury’s diverse community!
Date: June 2022
On Saturday 11th June Canterbury Pride welcomed over 25,000 people to the town’s central Dane John Gardens to gather together and celebrate the LGBTQ+ identity amidst the community in Canterbury. Attracting the events largest audience to date, the spectacular celebrations welcomed a diverse range of performers who thoroughly entertained the crowds throughout the afternoon in the glorious summer sunshine.
As a previous sponsor of Pride, Jenner decided that this year our support would go beyond a financial donation and look to solve the logistical challenges faced by the team at Pride in securing the park ready for the crowds on Saturday. As such, over 240 Heras fencing panels, along with additional pedestrian barriers, were arranged and delivered to the site early on Friday morning to be greeted by a team of fifteen Jenner volunteers who worked throughout the day to ensure every panel was securely in place ahead of the merriment to follow. Subsequently decorated with bespoke banners promoting the support of many local businesses from the City and beyond, each and every one recognising the importance of celebrating diversity and promoting inclusivity in our community, the Dane John was awash with colour and ready in good time for the festivities to begin.
