The Lord Mayor comes to site….Twice!

Firstly, she officially broke ground at our Seasalter scheme as it commenced the construction of 220 new homes on the greenfield site on the outskirts of Whitstable, and that will also facilitate vastly improved infrastructure to alleviate traffic congestion in its coastal location, before returning to commemorate the completion of a further 189 affordable new homes in the heart of Canterbury City centre.

On each occasion she showed an enthusiastic energy in climbing aboard the excavator on site signifying the ‘turning of the first sod’ in this longstanding construction tradition, before refusing to take the lift on one of the 5 storey completed apartment blocks that rewarded her with unrivalled views of Canterbury Cathedral when she reached the top.

We always love to welcome local dignitaries to our sites, and especially one with such a zest for life and appreciation of what development and construction beneficially brings to a region.

On both occasions the Lord Mayor expressed her delight in being part of these milestone celebrations and praised all those involved in delivering such essential new housing to her constituency.
