Working on behalf of valued client, specialist primary care property company Assura Plc, in the heart of Tonbridge town centre, Jenner have successfully delivered a state-of-the-art new medical centre to care for patients previously served by the ageing Pembury Road and Higham Lane premises, which were limited on space and therefore the level of services the GPs could provide. The new building based in River Lawn Lane, will be fit-for-purpose and allow Tonbridge Medical Group to better serve all patients.

Built over three storeys with under-croft parking to maximise space the centre includes consulting and treatment rooms as well as ancillary rooms and those for minor operations and procedures, that can be used by outsourced providers, as well as an onsite pharmacy. A dedicated ambulance bay and secure cycle storage are available to benefit both staff and patients. Spacious and welcoming reception and waiting areas are designed to boost wellbeing and enhance patient care.

Fully accessible the centre is compliant with all necessary DDA, health and safety and infection control standards, and built to achieve ‘BREEAM Excellent’ standards.

Designed with energy efficiency and long-term operational expenditure in mind, the contemporary new centre will generate much of its own energy through solar panels placed on the roof whilst other sustainable measures such as air-source heat pumps will help to reduce energy usage and ultimately reduce costs for the practice.

Now completed and in the hands of the new medical care team the centre is adept to serve over 20,000 patients in the future, dramatically boosting primary care provision for the people of Tonbridge.
