Led by Site Manager Kirk Longman, who is no stranger to winning awards having previously won the top accolade of the CCS National Gold award a few years back, the team delivering 28 affordable new homes on behalf of Moat Housing in Whitstable (Kent) – a site known to us as ‘Montpelier’ (and as pictured in the enclosed CGI’s), have been accredited with a ‘Quality Recognition’ Award from warranty provider Premier Guarantee. This is the second time a Jenner site has received recognition of this nature with the delivery of 166 new homes across the border in Hailsham, Sussex receiving the same award last year.

Operating for 25 years, Premier Guarantee are now the second largest warranty provider in the UK, acquired by HSB and ultimately owned by Munich Re. Their National Excellence Awards programme aims to seek out the best sites from across the UK by regularly and thoroughly assessing their performance to ensure the highest standards are being met across a multitude of indices including: Site Tidiness / Workmanship / Health & Safety / Cooperation (Site & Overall). Upon achieving an average of 4.6 for three consecutive months, an Area manager conducts an impromptu visit for verification and ultimately confirmation of the award.

The Montpelier team were given high praise by Premier’s Risk Management Surveyor Steve Hutchins who stated “This is an incredibly well-managed and tidy site, with a clear focus on safety and the wellbeing of the entire workforce. The new homes are being delivered to an exceptionally high standard in such a prominent location, creating a very positive image for construction, so it is a pleasure to recognise the efforts of all involved with this award, which is very much deserved. It is always a pleasure to visit a Jenner site.”

Ged Duffey from Premier subsequently confirmed the importance of this award, commenting: “These awards are recognition of continually, consistent good site work and are a record of your site being in the top 10% of Premier Guarantee sites nationally. Well done to you all.”

Since receiving their award back in February the site has subsequently been ‘longlisted’ for the overall award for excellence amongst a stellar line-up of national housebuilders, developers and contractors, and yet are the only Kent -based regional contractor to be recognised. This alone reminds us of the importance of a dedicated team committed to the highest standards and that we proudly have here at Jenner. With the shortlist announced later this month and overall winners announced in May we’ll be keeping out fingers firmly crossed!
