28 affordable new homes have now completed in their prominent roadside location in the highly desirable and much sought after seaside town of Whitstable (Kent)

Montpellier Avenue

Location: Whitstable, Kent

Client: Moat

Completed: January 2025

Value: £6.3m

The vision for this project started with our former sister development company – Leath Park Developments following the purchase of the land and the subsequent co-ordination of the planning submission for the proposed scheme. The project to deliver 24 apartments and 4 town houses for social rent was packaged as a ‘land and build’ opportunity and presented to our longstanding client Moat.

Following the demolition of an existing house on the land, the new development, formed of traditional masonry construction is designed and built with thermal efficiency in mind to reduce operational costs for its residents and fuelled in its entirety by electrical energy. The apartments curve to meet the shape of the site with resident parking positioned to the rear. Given its roadside location measures were implemented to reduce the noise from the traffic, through installation of acoustic glazing and specialist fencing. The top floors boast unrivalled views over the English Channel.

The scheme completed ahead of original programme and to a very high standard, much to the delight of our client and the Lord Mayor of Canterbury who officially opened the project.
