Delivered on behalf of the Kent Business School at the University of Kent, the regeneration of the Sail and Colour Loft involved the careful and sympathetic refurbishment to the first floor of this historical three-storey building that dates back to 1723. Based at the Chatham Dockyards as part of the University’s Medway student campus, the building was originally used for the manufacture and repair of shipyard materials.

Jenner carried out a fast-track, 20-week reconfiguration and refurbishment programme of works whilst the other floors in the building remained operational and open to staff and students throughout. Delivered by our General Works team including many of our in-house skilled tradespeople, works included the reconfiguration of partition walls, a full upgrade of all mechanical and electrical installations, new flooring and redecoration throughout.

The investment has totally revitalised the building providing new lecture rooms, office accommodation and vibrant student break-out space.
